Getting StartedWhat is ScriptSync?

ScriptSync is an iOS app for film and television production teams. It keeps scripts, call sheets, storyboards, scene progress, character sides, and team communication in one shared project.

Getting StartedWhere are the main tools in the app?

Use the main tabs for Scripts, Call Sheet, Chat, Storyboard, and Settings. Inside a script, use the Script, Scenes, and Characters views. The bottom drawer in the script viewer also links back to the main tools.

Getting StartedIs ScriptSync available in Spanish?

Yes. ScriptSync supports English and Spanish for app navigation and labels. You can change your language from your profile settings.

ScriptsWho can upload a script?

Director, 1st AD, and Script Supervisor job roles can upload scripts. Use a PDF under 20 MB. Every uploaded script remains available in the project unless an authorized user hides or deletes it.

ScriptsWho can see a hidden script?

Only the Director, 1st AD, and Script Supervisor can access a hidden script. Other roles cannot open its content, comments, sides, storyboard tools, or AI chat context.

ScriptsHow do I open a character's sides?

Open the script, choose Characters, and tap the character name. Tapping the person icon beside the name opens the character reference panel instead.

Call SheetsHow should I upload a multi-page call sheet?

Select every page for that shoot date at the same time: one PDF or up to four photos. The pages are processed as one call sheet. Uploading pages separately replaces the earlier upload instead of adding to it.

Call SheetsHow does the call-sheet extraction limit work?

One successfully saved multi-page upload uses one extraction. A successful replacement uses another. Failed processing, viewing, editing extracted details, announcing, and deletion do not use extraction quota, and deleting a call sheet does not restore prior usage. Free includes 5 per calendar month, Indie 15 per billing cycle, Pro 50 per billing cycle, and Studio is unlimited. Stored call sheets still use project storage.

Call SheetsWho can upload and announce call sheets?

The 1st AD, 2nd AD, and Production Coordinator can upload and announce call sheets. Check your project job role in Settings if those controls are missing.

Call SheetsWhat should I do when extracted call-sheet data is wrong?

Open the call sheet and choose Edit extracted data to correct operational details such as call times, cast rows, locations, and schedule information. A clearer source PDF or image can also improve a replacement upload.

Call SheetsWhy does call-sheet processing say it is busy?

Wait about 10 seconds and try again. Processing capacity is limited so uploads do not overwhelm extraction. Keep the app open while the upload is in progress.

Storyboards & AIDo storyboards have to be generated with AI?

No. From the Storyboard tab, you can upload existing PDF, JPEG, or PNG storyboard files. Uploaded boards appear beside generated frames and can be viewed, edited, deleted, and exported.

Storyboards & AIHow do I generate storyboard frames?

Open a script, go to Scenes, and tap the list icon beside a scene. Generate a shot list, then use Generate frame beside an individual shot or Generate all frames for the scene.

Storyboards & AIWhich art styles can I use?

Choose Cinematic Realism, Dark Chiaroscuro Painting, or Illustrative Anime, or enter your own Custom style. The project style applies to character references and storyboard frames. It locks when the first character reference is locked.

Storyboards & AIWho can view or generate storyboard frames?

Directing, Camera, and Production departments can view storyboards and shot lists. Only Director, 1st AD, and Script Supervisor job roles can generate, edit, upload, or delete storyboard frames.

Storyboards & AIWhy can AI image results or safety decisions vary?

Storyboard frames and character images are created by third-party AI services. OnSetPilot manages requests, quota, and saved results, but cannot override provider safety decisions or guarantee a particular creative result.

Storyboards & AIWhat should I do when an image is blocked by safety checks?

Change the prompt or reference image before trying again. Use neutral, non-graphic visual language and remove explicit sexual content, gore, detailed injury, self-harm content, threats, or targeting language. Repeating the same request will not resolve a safety block.

Storyboards & AIDoes a failed image attempt use generation quota?

When the app confirms that the attempt failed before a result was saved, it does not use generation quota. The app states: "This attempt did not use your generation quota." A successfully saved image uses quota even when you dislike the creative result.

Storyboards & AIWhat happens when the project reaches its image limit?

Existing frames remain available. No additional quota is used by the rejected request. Wait for the next usage cycle or upgrade the project plan from Settings > Project.

Storyboards & AIWhat should I do after a timeout or network loss?

Refresh the scene and Storyboard tab before retrying because the request may still complete. Quota is used only if a result was saved. Restore the connection, check for the result, and retry only if it is still missing.

Storyboards & AIWhy did Generate all frames stop partway through?

Generate all stops at the first failed frame so it does not submit repeated requests. Frames saved before the failure remain available and each saved frame uses one unit. Follow the exact message shown for the failed shot.

Storyboards & AIWhat should I do when a frame turns blank?

A blank frame is a loading problem, not proof that generation failed. Refresh the Storyboard tab and reopen the scene before generating anything again. If it stays blank, send support the project, scene, shot, approximate time, and a screenshot.

Storyboards & AIHow do I edit an existing image?

For a storyboard frame, open it full screen and tap the brush icon, or use Edit beneath a generated shot-list frame. For a character image, open the person icon beside the character and choose Edit Image. Each successful edit uses one image generation.

Team & ChatWhy can an admin still be missing a production control?

Project role and job role serve different purposes. Admins manage membership and project settings, while production actions depend on job role and sometimes department. Check both values in Settings > Team.

Team & ChatWhy can't a crew member see storyboards?

Storyboard and character-reference media are visible only to Directing, Camera, and Production departments. An admin in another department does not automatically receive media access.

Team & ChatWhat can the AI chat help with?

The AI assistant can answer questions about the selected script, including scenes, character information, and dialogue. Authorized production roles can also update scene status using natural-language commands.

Team & ChatHow long is AI Assistant history available?

AI Assistant history available in the app follows the project's current plan: Free provides 7 days, Indie 6 calendar months, Pro 12 calendar months, and Studio has no age-based limit while Studio remains active. If a paid plan expires or changes, the newly effective plan's window applies, so older conversations can become unavailable. Unavailable history receives a 30-day recovery period before permanent deletion from the active database. Upgrading the project before its scheduled deletion deadline will automatically restore unavailable history covered by the new plan. History already deleted cannot be restored. Clearing history, deleting your account, or deleting the project removes it sooner. These windows apply only to AI Assistant conversations, not Team Messages.

Team & ChatWhat should I do when an invitation cannot be found?

Check the recipient's spam folder and confirm the email address. If the invitation expired or never arrived, a project admin can resend it from Settings > Team.

Billing & AccountIs billing per user or per project?

Billing is per project, not per crew member. One project subscription covers the team up to that plan's member limit.

Billing & AccountWhat does the Studio plan include?

Studio is $699 per project per month and supports up to 100 active members and valid pending invitations. Pending invitations reserve a member seat and expire after 30 days; resending renews the same invitation.

Billing & AccountWhat if my production needs more than 100 members?

Productions with more than 100 members are reviewed separately and are not automatically included with Studio. Contact support@onsetpilot.com to discuss a custom setup.

Billing & AccountWhere do I subscribe or manage billing?

Open Settings > Project in ScriptSync. Use Change Plan for upgrades, downgrades, or cancellation to Free. Use Payment Methods to update the card through Stripe; that page cannot change the project plan.

Billing & AccountWhat happens when I delete my account?

Projects where you are the only admin are deleted. In a project with another admin, your membership is removed, but shared production content can remain for the team without your creator or uploader attribution. Your profile, comments, team messages, notifications, AI Assistant history, and personal feature-usage attribution are deleted. A limited plan counter may remain without your user ID so deletion cannot reset a shared project's allowance. Active billing or project-lifecycle work may need to finish or be canceled first, and subscriptions you own are canceled before deletion completes.

Billing & AccountHow do I export my personal data?

Sign in at onsetpilot.com/data-export. Supported app versions also provide Personal Data Export in Settings > Profile. The account-scoped ZIP includes your profile, memberships, your own communications and notes, all of your AI Assistant history still retained by OnSetPilot, usage records, and limited attribution metadata. This includes history temporarily unavailable under a project's plan; history already physically deleted is not included in a new export. It excludes shared production files, full shared production records, and other members' data. Each download requires your account, and the file is deleted automatically after seven days. Email privacy@onsetpilot.com for a broader privacy request or if you cannot access your account.

Billing & AccountHow do I downgrade a project plan?

The billing owner opens Settings > Project and chooses Change Plan. A downgrade is scheduled for the renewal date, so the current plan, team access, and current member allowance continue through the paid period. When the lower plan takes effect, AI Assistant history older than its available-history window becomes unavailable and begins its 30-day recovery period. Remaining pending invitations are canceled at the same time.

Billing & AccountCan I cancel a scheduled plan change?

Yes. The billing owner opens Settings > Project and selects Cancel Scheduled Change. Stripe restores the current subscription schedule, and the current plan and automatic renewal continue. Payment Methods only updates the card and cannot change or cancel the project plan.

Billing & AccountWhy must I select members before a downgrade?

If the project has more members than the new plan allows, choose exactly the number supported by that plan. The billing owner must remain selected. Members added after scheduling are not selected automatically; use Review Active Members in Settings before renewal to update the list.

Billing & AccountWhat happens to members I do not select?

They keep access until the downgrade date. Settings shows each member whether their access will continue or be suspended. A suspended membership is not deleted; the project role, job role, department, and join date are preserved. A later upgrade restores suspended members automatically as capacity becomes available.

Billing & AccountWhat happens if payment fails or a subscription is canceled outside the app?

A past-due payment does not immediately remove access while Stripe retries collection. If the subscription reaches a final canceled or unpaid state without a saved selection, ScriptSync keeps the billing owner first, then other admins and the earliest-joined members up to the plan limit. Contact support if the retained team needs review.

Billing & AccountHow does billing ownership transfer work?

The current billing owner starts the transfer from Settings > Project. The invited admin chooses the upcoming plan before accepting and, when the destination plan has fewer seats, selects the members who will keep access. The invited admin must retain themself. Transfer details are visible only to the current and invited billing owners; other members see only their own downgrade impact. The current paid plan remains active until renewal.

Billing & AccountCan the new billing owner change the upcoming plan?

Yes. While the transfer is scheduled, the invited admin can use Change Upcoming Plan in Settings > Project. Existing project data is preserved if the project changes to Free, but Free limits apply after the transfer date.

Billing & AccountWhat is the difference between archiving and deleting a project?

Archiving permanently makes a project read-only while preserving its history for project admins to view and download. It cannot be undone, and an archived project cannot later be deleted in the app. Deleting permanently removes the project's content, members, and files. Use Archive when you need the production record; use Delete only when the project data is no longer needed.

Billing & AccountWhat happens to a Free project slot when I archive or delete?

An active Free project uses a slot for as long as it remains active. For its first 30 days after becoming usable, that slot also remains reserved if the project is archived. The archived project releases the slot when the original 30-day period ends. A project that was still waiting for a slot has nothing to reserve. Deleting an active Free project releases its slot immediately. Waiting projects are never activated automatically; the billing owner chooses which one to activate next.

Billing & AccountHow do I archive a paid project?

The billing owner, who must also be a project admin, opens Settings > Project and chooses Archive Project. They can turn off renewal or move the current subscription to an eligible active Free project they own. The source project becomes read-only immediately. Turning off renewal does not refund the current period; moving transfers the current plan and billing cycle immediately. Archived source files continue using the moved plan's storage. Before a move, the app shows retained source storage, destination storage, and remaining capacity, and blocks a destination that would exceed the plan.

Billing & AccountHow do I delete a paid project?

The billing owner, who must also be a project admin, opens Delete Project and chooses Turn Off Renewal & Delete or Move Subscription. The project and its data are removed immediately in either case. Turning off renewal prevents the next charge but does not refund the current period. Moving preserves the current plan and billing cycle on an eligible active Free project. The app shows destination capacity after source cleanup; deleted source files continue to count temporarily until physical cleanup finishes. Archive instead if you need to preserve project history.

Billing & AccountWhy is archive or delete blocked by a billing update?

Only one billing change can control a project at a time. Complete or resolve the open Checkout, billing ownership transfer, plan change, archive, deletion, or subscription move, then reopen Settings > Project. If another person started Checkout, that person must finish or close their session. Do not create a second subscription to work around the message.

Billing & AccountWhere can I see current plan limits?

The Pricing section on onsetpilot.com lists current project, team, storage, and AI allowances. The app also shows relevant usage and limit messages in the workflow where they apply.

Billing & AccountWhere can I see project usage and member capacity?

Open Settings > Project for usage. Every member sees their own AI Chat usage. Director, 1st AD, and Script Supervisor see project AI-generation usage; call-sheet roles see Call Sheet Extractions. Those roles, project admins, and the billing owner can also see project storage usage. Project admins and the billing owner see all applicable usage. AI Chat resets daily at midnight UTC. Monthly AI and call-sheet extraction meters reset on the paid billing date, or at the start of the next calendar month on Free. Team Capacity appears at the top of Settings > Team and includes active members plus valid pending invitations because invitations reserve seats.

Billing & AccountWhat happens when project storage is full?

Existing project content remains available, but new files and generated images are blocked until space is available. Delete stored project content or upgrade the project plan. Deleted files continue to count while physical cleanup is pending; Settings shows the pending amount, and capacity returns after cleanup finishes. Storage does not reset on a schedule. If Settings says usage is updating, wait and try again later.
